SABHA - 4M Report Arvind Kumar, 31 Aug, 2004

Your regular dose of pseudosecularism

  1. New Yorker article says Hindus are extremely dangerous

Thanks to Rajan Parrikar who called attention to this piece. In this piece titled The Best Job in Town that appeared in The New Yorker, blonde-haired Katherine Boo states,
Though most Chennai residents were Hindu, violence against the city's Muslim minority was relatively rare.
Imagine that! Hindus who routinely hijack planes and slam them into buildings, Hindus who strap explosives and blow themselves up in crowded markets and Hindus who burn themselves to defame Islam haven't attacked Muslims in Chennai. Those who wish to email the blonde haired Katherine Boo can find her email address on the webpage containing her profile.

  2. Wildlife Society threatens to destroy wildlife

George Thundiparambil writes to point out that the Wildlife society of Bangladesh has threatened to destroy elephants. According to the above BBC report,
The Wildlife Society of Bangladesh last month urged the Indian authorities immediately to take back the elephants living in Bangladeshi territory.

Unless the animals return to India, it warned, Bangladesh has the right to destroy them with co-operation from the international community.
According to another BBC report, the political secretary to the Prime Minister wants to make sure that the Religion of Peace is practiced only in moderation!
"One thing I want to make sure - this country has been established and identified as a moderate Islamic country," says Harris Chowdhury, political secretary to Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
Peace, but only in moderation. That might explain the cruelty to elephants.

  3. SABHA proposes solution for Palestine problem

Amitava Kumar who became Safdar Ali when he was forced to convert in order to get his marriage recognized, gives a solution for the Ayodhya problem.
As an anecdote to this vision, Kumar shares an idea a rickshaw driver gave him about the disputed site of the Babri mosque in Ayodhya that was pulled down in 1992.

"He said build a Ram-Rahim hospital for all faiths at the site. And break the legs of anyone who objects. Of course, they can get treatment at the hospital for their broken legs later."
We at SABHA have a solution for the Palestine problem. No one gets the land. Build hospitals for all faiths in Palestine. And break the legs of anyone who objects. Of course, they can get treatment at one of the hospitals for their broken legs later. If they wish to get treated for shrapnel wounds resulting from a car bomb gone wrong or for self-inflicted wounds resulting from attempts to blow oneself up, they can get treated there. We even have a name for the hospital chain: Ram-Allah Hospitals!

  4. Din! Din! Din! Gunga Din!

This photo of "Prime Minister" Manmohan Singh genuflecting before a two year old says it all. Click here for an explanation of Gunga-Din-ism provided by Rajeev Srinivasan on Rediff.

  5. Times of India equates hoisting Indian flag with Murder

Since hoisting the Indian flag in India amounts to murder, members of a particular community hoisted the flag of Islamic Republic of Pakistan "atop of a religious place" in Haryana.

In June this year, members of a particular community in Karnataka hoisted the flag of Islamic Republic of Pakistan atop a darga.

There were no reports of any murder charges being filed against those who hoisted the Pakistani flags.

  6. Macaulay struck a blow at system of Indian education

President Abdul Kalam, speaking at the convocation ceremony of Jamia Millia Islamia University, stated that Macaulay's Minutes struck a blow at the centuries old system of Indian education.
“It was February 1835, a time when the British were striving to take control of the whole of India. Lord Macaulay, a historian and a politician, made a historical speech in the British Parliament, commonly referred to as The Minutes, which struck a blow at the centuries old system of Indian education. His words were to this effect: “I have traveled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief. Such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such caliber, that I do not think we would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very backbone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage, and, therefore, I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their won, they will lose their self-esteem, their native self-culture and they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation.” A strong and ever vital education system is therefore fundamental to the survival and growth of civilizations.

An editorial in The Times of India gushes at the prospect of being branded a foot soldier of "Macaulay's Third World army,"
What a delicious irony it would be if Macaulay's Third World army were to succeed in injecting some chaos in the world of English publishing.
Lost our self-esteem and proud of it, aren't we?

For those who are not aware, the first M in 4M Report stands for Macaulay. The other 3 Ms stand for Mullah, Marxist and Missionary respectively.
