- Non-aligned Movement stunned as Arafat dies
The "Non-Aligned" Movement (NAM) plunged into confusion after Yasser Arafat, the Nobel Prize winning terrorist and the only NAM member to head an imaginary country, died sometime last week. It is not clear who will provide leadership and wisdom to NAM.
Torchbearers of freedom who have helped shape the policies of NAM include Fidel Castro, Marshal Tito, King Fahd bin Abd al-Aziz Al Saud, Jawaharlal Nehru, Colonel Nasser, General Zia-ul-Haq, Robert Mugabe, Revolutionary Leader Col. Muammar Abu Minyar al-Qadhafi and Saddam Hussein.
- Muslim "intellectuals" defend activist accused of issuing death threats
A Muslim "intellectual" group, The Intellectuals' Forum for Secular Democracy, comprising of "academics" from Aligarh Muslim University, defended Teesta Setalvad who stands accused of threatening to kill Zaheera Sheikh, the prime "witness" in the Best Bakery case if she did not frame innocent people.
Summary of events: A Muslim member of Congress, Mohammed Hussein Kolota, masterminds the firebombing of the train at Godhra. Indian media gloats over the terrorist act. Narendra Modi did not make the infamous comment justifying the riots by quoting Newton's law. Peter Popham writes a fabricated story in The Independent. Christian writer-activist, Arundhati Roy, apologizes when caught weaving an intricate piece of fiction. An email with false claims does the rounds. The eye-witness named in this email refutes its contents. Christian writer-activist, Arundhati Roy, furiously back-pedals when police request her for information about the fictitious description in her piece about someone calling her up and sobbing on the telephone describing how she witnessed a friend's stomach being ripped open and stuffed with burning rags. Communists and fellow-travelers write a report based on the infamous email and other points mentioned above while obfuscating the identity of the culprits who firebombed the train. Zahira Sheikh, a key "witness," comes clean in the month of Ramadan, and states that she faced death threats from Teesta Setalvad, whose website hosted the infamous report written by Communists and others.
Conclusion based on the above summary of events: Hindus are fascists!
If true, Teesta Setalvad's death threat would be consistent with the "philosophy" of the Christian writer-activist and flibbertigibbet, Arundhati Roy, who is turning out to be the Barbie-doll of violent groups.

- Trust us, we're South Asia Experts!
Reacting to the item, Flip-flopping Professor is Hindu fundamentalist on Tuesdays?, a certain professor and South Asia expert in a well known university on the US east coast, who is also known for filibustering, wrote to us:
He does not say these states are "contiguous" to Assam, but that they form a continuous (i.e. each one contiguous to the next) belt.
After investigating if Assam or Bihar had invaded West Bengal, or if any parallel universe had been discovered, we wrote to the South Asia expert pointing out that West Bengal separated Assam and Bihar. The South Asia expert explained in a subsequent email:
Try this: divide India into quadrants -- a line mid-way on the East-West and another midway on the North-South dimensions. Call the upper-right quadrant "northeastern India". You'd have quite a bit of U.P. and M.P, Bihar, and Assam in it.
We won't argue with this. He is the South Asia expert!
- Christians beg Saudi Arabia for mercy
Do bullies pick only on the weak?
A leading Christian organisation Wednesday appealed to Saudi Arabia to show mercy to an Indian Christian convicted of "spreading Christianity" in the Islamic kingdom.
Meaning of mercy from Merriam Webster
1 a : compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to one subject to one's power; also : lenient or compassionate treatment <begged for mercy> b : imprisonment rather than death imposed as penalty for first-degree murder 2 a : a blessing that is an act of divine favor or compassion
Noam Chomsky explains this phenomenon while discussing another topic:
I mean, you don’t want to attack somebody who can shoot back [audience applause]. That would be ridiculous.
Think of the mafia don again. I mean, is he going to attack another mafia don who can send goons in to kill him? If you have a choice, you fight against defenceless enemies. Then you can stand up on television and, you know, make heroic gestures and so on and so forth without any concern.
- Wife-beating is okay, say Turkish women
Women in Turkey justified being assaulted by their husbands for a variety of reasons.
Arguing with the husband topped the list of justified reasons for domestic violence, followed by too much spending and the negligence of children.
Turkey is the most modern and liberal among all Islamic countries.
- Din! Din! Din! Gunga Din!
Janata Party leader Subramanian Swamy pointed out and example of Gunga-Din syndrome of Indian Communists when he made the perceptive comment,
"...their party posters and bill boards only display the images of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Stalin, all white-skinned Europeans."
- Filmmaker killed by Muslim, Europeans declared intolerant!
Religion of Peace struck again by killing Theo Van Gogh, a talented Dutch filmmaker who made Submission, a candid film portraying Islam's treatment of women. Two TV stations got the message of Islam and decided not to broadcast the film.
Meanwhile, London's Guardian blamed the Dutch people of being intolerant toward Muslims! However, in a Freudian slip, the ultra-left newspaper admitted that Muslims were intolerant.
The urgency of the matter is shown by polling evidence of mounting intolerance of Muslims.
- "Social worker" has plans to improve society
An example of selfless "social work" -
A social worker today filed a petition in the Madras High Court for a direction to Dharmapuri district police to register a case of murder against Additional Director General of Police and Tamil Nadu Special Task Force chief K Vijayakumar in connection with the October 18 killing of forest brigand Veerappan.
